Sea Wildlife sanctuaries: Almanjarov forest sanctuary Location: Located between
latitudes 22-27 and longitudes 23-37 Properties: forest grows where many of the
turtles and rare plants Ebreeq sanctuary Location: Located between latitudes
23-35 and longitudes 30-3 Properties: there are many of the plains and hills
where they grow animals and rare plants
Duwayb sanctuary Location:
Located between latitudes 22-23 and
longitudes 35-36 Properties: in the plains contain many marine plants and rare
animals Location: Elba mountain sanctuary Location: Located between latitudes
10-22 and 22-36 longitude.
** it was considered a natural reserve under the decision of Mr. / Chairman of the
Council of Ministers No. 450 of 1986. Because of the variation of ecosystems in
the area from the
mountains and valleys and areas of easy and coastal and marine as well as increased
rainfall, and it contains the majority of species of animals, birds, reptiles
and wild plants in Egypt. Wadi elgemal sanctuary Location: Located in the Valley
of the camels of the 6 to 40 km south of Marsa Alam. Protecting Red Sea's coral
reef
The Red Sea
Governorate has
recently launched a new project to boost its efforts to protect the environment
and the rare coral reef off
The Red Sea
coast. The governorate established 250 buoys in the diving locations in Hurghada, Safaga and al-Kosayer resorts to
prevent the damage caused by divers' yachts and boats on the coral reef. Six coral reef guards will be trained to watch over the diving areas, the coral reef
and the nearby small islands. Tourist guides will also be trained to prevent the damage to the reef.
